2024 Sangiovese

This is a medium bodied, savoury, bright young Sangiovese. Fresh cranberry and red plums, violets soft tannins with a savoury finish.

Food matches: Gnocchi with creamy blue cheese or a rich pasta with ragu of duck

Region: Tumbarumba

Vineyards: Juliet Cullen - Excelsior Peak

Varieties: Sangiovese 100%

Alcohol: 13%

Production: 150 dozen 

Vinification: The Tumbarumba fruit was hand picked and destemmed into open fermenters. Once fermentation had started it was plunged 3 times a day until nearly dry, when it was pressed and racked to 5 x 225L barriques  - 20% New oak.

Barrel aging for 10 months before being bottled, unfiltered on the 18th January.
